The James Boyd Children's Centre at the Toronto Botanical Garden is the perfect place to celebrate your child’s birthday. Our bright and sunny children’s centre is brimming with games, books, activities and artifacts that your child will enjoy exploring with their guests.

Customizing your perfect party is as easy as following these simple steps:

1. Book the Space

• Base Package- This option includes rental of the Children's Centre for 2 hours. Excellent for parties for children 3 and under or for tight budgets, this is a room rental only. Parents are responsible for decoration, clean up and entertainment. A security deposit of $200 will be required. Entertainment may be selected from the list below. Please, no outside entertainers. ($100 Members/ $125 Public)
• Room Rental + Host- Our most popular choice, this includes a 2 hour room rental and rental of all dishes and cutlery. In addition, this option includes a TBG host to decorate, greet guests and facilitate the entertainment, cake cutting and general flow of the party. The birthday party host will also take care of all the clean up including dishes and cutlery. ($200 Members/ $225 Public)

A Garden Party!* How does your garden grow? During this indoors-only party, children will receive their own pot to decorate and plant seeds for a vegetable or edible flower. A great alternative to traditional loot bags! Maximum 15 invitees for this option. ($100)

Farm Fun!* Perfect for children turning 1 to 3 years, this indoors-only party helps new nature lovers explore who lives on the farm, what grows there, and creates a barnyard of friends to take home. ($100)

Eco Chic* Care about the Earth and want to be creative too? This is the party for you. Sew and decorate your own reusable bag to take home. Learn about other creative and exciting ways to lighten our footprint on the planet. ($125)

Power of the Earth* Explode a volcano and find the secrets in the puzzle of Earth’s tectonic plates, then make your own take-home tornado. If you’ve ever marveled at how the Earth creates and destroys itself, this is the party for you. ($125)

Meet the Animals from Creature Quest! Be amazed by their live animal party. During this indoor-only party, hold, touch or examine 6 to 8 amazing animals. Kids will receive free prizes and small give-aways at the end of the show! ($150)

Outstanding Hikes! Kids will participate in a variety of outdoor explorations throughout the grounds of TBG and Edwards Gardens (wheelchair accessible). Hike topics range from butterflies to animal tracks to geology and the list goes on! Kids will receive free prizes and small give-aways at the end of the show. ($150)

*These options require booking the room + a TBG host.

3. Loot Bags:
Loot bags for party invitees are available for order. All toys are supplied by Wild Republic. Click on your choice to view the contents of each loot bag.

• Deluxe Loot Bag ($7)
• Basic Loot Bag ($5)

4. Food:
While the TBG does not provide cake, for those interested in simple food TBG can organize pizza and pop for your party. Outside food may be arranged and brought in by parents.

• Extra Large Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza from Pizza Pizza ($25 / Pizza)
• Pop: 3 - Cola, Lemon Lime, or Orange pop ($3.33 / 2 Litre Bottle)
  

Important Information:

We accept a maximum of 15 or 20 children / party (please review your entertainment choice for details)
Parties are for children turning 1 to 11 years old
Parties take place on Saturdays, at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

We recommend that parties be booked 4 to 6 weeks in advance of the date to ensure your preferred date and entertainment
