  • TBG camps are held in The James Boyd Children's Centre and outdoors in the Teaching Garden.
  • Programs are held primarily outdoors but will include daily activities in The James Boyd Children's Centre
  • Please dress children for the weather.

Join us for a full week of summer fun! Programs for children ages 3 to 11 years of age are held primarily outdoors, but campers will also have an opportunity to explore the artifacts in The James Boyd Children's Centre. Be sure to send campers with water, sunscreen, a hat, nut-free snacks and clothing appropriate for the weather of the day.

Animal Camp
[TG10SAC] If your little one is curious about creatures, this camp is for you! Learn which animals live in and around the TBG, find out what they eat, create cool animal crafts, sing fun songs and help our animal friends by planting in the garden!

Exploration Camp
[TG10SEC] There is so much to discover in the Teaching Garden! Use your senses to explore the hidden world of the garden through games, crafts, hunts and stories. There's something new to discover every day!

Garden Camp
[TG10SGC] It's time to get growing! The garden becomes our playground as we plant and tend vegetables in our organic garden, learn how all creatures play important roles in nature, and celebrate with a harvest party. Games, projects, crafts and more!
July 5 to 9, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Bug Camp
[TG10SBC] Do you dream of dragonflies? Are you beguiled by butterflies? Together we'll get to know our bugs from Arthropod to Zoraptera. We'll hunt creepy crawlies, befriend the bugs and create cool critter crafts!
July 19 to 23, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Adventure Camp
[TG10SADV] There are so many adventures to have at the TBG! We'll become explorers to find our way through the woods, pirates to discover the mysteries of the creeks, and time travelers to discover the ancient past. A new discovery each day!

Art Camp
[TG10SART] Love art? Love to be outside? This camp is for you. This camp will explore painting, drawing, print-making, 3D art and more. Let nature inspire your budding artists!

Cooking Camp
[TG10SCC] Calling all foodies and kids who love cooking! Spend five mornings in the garden growing and picking fresh ingredients to create simple and delicious treats. Learn the real meaning of 'locavore'! All creations will be nut free.

Leadership Camp
[TG010SLC] For developing leaders this camp introduces group challenges and team-building to help campers develop a deeper awareness of themselves, each other and the natural world through drama, games, activities and sharing.
