Toronto Botanical Garden (TBG) library materials may be borrowed by current members of TBG, the Garden Club of Toronto, the Milne House Garden Club, or the Southern Ontario Orchid Society. Books from the circulating collections and back-issues of magazines may be borrowed. Reference books, historical books, and magazines from the current year do not leave the library. The borrowing period is three weeks for all items, with one three-week renewal (unless there is a reserve on the book, in which case renewal is not available). Renewal may be done in person, by telephone or via email (see our contact information for numbers). Please renew on or before the due date to avoid fines! A maximum of ten books and ten magazines may be borrowed at any one time. A maximum of six books on a particular topic may be borrowed at any one time. Fines are $0.20 per day per item, to a maximum of $5.00 per item. Items renewed after the due date are subject to fines for all days the library was open between the due date and the date of renewal. Lost items will be subject to the current cost of replacing the item. We ask that you pay all fines at the same time as you return the items. Borrowers with outstanding fines will not be permitted to borrow additional items until their records are clear of fines. To place a reserve on an item that is signed out, or just to have a book set aside for you to come and pick up, please call or email us and we'll be happy to do this for you!
