The Toronto Botanical Garden is pleased to offer a series of integrated courses leading to a Certificate of Achievement in Floral Design. This is not a college credit course but a program that has been developed to provide a thorough foundation in the art of floral design for the dedicated amateur, for professionals who may use floral design to enhance their primary field of endeavor (e.g. interior designers, decorators, real estate agents) or as an exploratory course of study for those in pursuit of work in the florist trade. All courses are hands-on and will be taught by floral design judges accredited by the Garden Clubs of Ontario. To earn the TBG Certificate in Floral Design requires 72 hours of instruction which may be spread over no more than six years. Students must successfully complete five mandatory courses (45 hours) and an additional 27 hours drawn from a variety of elective courses and workshops. A pass mark must be obtained in each course. The required courses will be given several times over the next few years and the electives will vary from term to term. See the current program guide for the courses available. [Click here].
