Creative
Flower Design
[PG09F22] Margaret Taylor
During the 1960's, the breaking of traditions and the quest for freedom
was apparent even in floral design. Rather than repeating the formulae
for flower arrangements from the past, designers began to experiment with
the use of space, colour, rhythm, proportion, balance, contrast and dominance.
The result was an outpouring of new types of creative designs - parallel,
satellitic, synergistic, underwater and duo designs among others. Join
us to learn more about this fun and exciting period in floral design!
Please bring a bagged lunch.

This basic course is for you if you want to learn more about how to create
beautiful flower arrangements. We will learn classic designs (line designs
for entrance ways and side tables) as well as classic mass designs (which
really make a statement) and a variety of other designs based on a traditional
application of the principles and elements of design. In each class, you
will learn about plant material, botanical names, containers, mechanics
and all the techniques needed to create a beautiful floral design to take
home. No experience necessary.
Tuesdays, November 3 through 17,
