Modern Floral Design

Explore the modern style in floral design, and learn how and why it differs from traditional design. Explore new methods and mechanics and create eye-catching designs. Introduction to Floral Design and Basic Floral Design are prerequisites. A materials list will be supplied upon registration. Course can be applied towards the

Introduction to Floral Design
Beginning with the basics, you’ll learn to select and condition flowers and foliage and create centrepieces and bouquets using elements and principles of design and colour theory. Each week, take home a stunning flower arrangement. No previous experience necessary. A materials list will be supplied upon registration. Fee does not include floral materials or supplies. Course can be applied towards the Floral Design Certificate.

Introduction to Ikebana

Ikenobo is the oldest school of ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. Founded in the fifteenth
century by Buddhist monk Ikenobo
Senno, today it is practised around the world and greatly influences Western design. Learn the principles of ikenobo
and create a beautiful flower arrangement each week. All plant material is included in the cost. Course can be
applied as an elective toward the Floral Design Certificate.

Basic Floral Design

Learn to create floral arrangements based on a traditional application of the principles of design. In each class, you will learn about plant material, botanical names, containers and techniques needed to create a takehome floral design. Introduction to Floral Design is suggested as a prerequisite.
